The EDCO Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is a public school based program for middle and high school students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Established in 1973, EDCO was the first high school program for the deaf and hard of hearing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Located within Newton Public Schools, students referred to the EDCO Program by their local education agency attend F.A. Day Middle School (grades 6-8) and Newton North High School (grades 9-12+).
EDCO serves students in the greater Boston area and beyond. Serving a diverse student body, EDCO students have access to challenging academic curriculum, advanced career and vocational technical training and individualized support for functional academics and independent living. With a broad array of options, students can explore and develop knowledge and competencies needed for successful post-secondary outcomes.
